Everything began while we were in the studio. The combination of a robotic synth line and a golden Buddha statue sitting in our field of vision gave us the ‘’Goldfellas’’ idea. We imagined these alien-like people coming from a place known as ‘’Freak Flag Town’’ to transmit a message elaborating a need for change; saying we should take ourselves less seriously and expand our consciousness. We wanted this song to be engaging, all while being light and open to imaginative interpretation.

Hey Major is formed by the two multi-instrumentalist brothers, Mickaël and Raphaël Fortin.  Built on strong brit rock influences, their unique sound is created by the explosive chemistry of the duo. Dynamic drum and piano parts, touching and intense vocals, delivered with emotion and energy. A sound they’ve dubbed “Elegant Rock”.

In May 2015, the band, which was formally called Orange O’clock, won CBC’s Searchlight contest as “Best New Canadian Artist”, among 3000 acts across Canada, with their single “Can't Fight the Feeling”.  A year later, among more than 18 000 songwriters across the world, they landed in second place with their song Wax ’n’ Wane at the International Songwriting Competition in Nashville.

After a month of touring in Australia, the duo returned to Montreal to put the finishing touches on their debut album, The Station. Recorded and produced in Montreal with Peter Edwards and Franz Schuller at Indica Studios, the album was mixed by Chris Shaw (Bob Dylan, Weezer, Wilco…) and Tim Palmer (David Bowie, Tears for Fears, U2…). The Station is now ready and slated for release in fall 2019. The first single, Brother, is available on all platforms.
